A complete disconnection?

-

As we continue to talk about mental health, I also continue to read daily emails from people struggling. Not only is the lack of services still a problem, so is the stigma. Nothing will change until each one of us looks deeply within and challenges our conditioning around mental health. If you took a deep dive into your subconscious, do you still think, at some level, that people struggling with mental health issues are not as capable as others? It’s funny because the truth is we all suffer with our mental health, whether it’s through stress, tiredness, bad days, break-ups, grief, loss, and the list goes on. The idea that it’s them and not me, needs to stop. It’s all of us together and what will help Ireland heal is connection, community and a non-judgmental listening ear. Ask yourself honestly: would your opinion shift if someone told you they were struggling? Maybe we need to work on our own integrity and challenge our deep ingrained belief structures before we point fingers or indeed pat ourselves on the back about a job well done.
