Walsh honoured at tourism awards

Airline chief executive Willie Walsh was among those honoured at the Irish Tourism Industry Awards last Friday night when he was presented with a Special Recognitio­n Award.

Transport Minister Shane Ross said he was delighted to acknowledg­e the hard work of businesses in the sector. The event is organised by the Irish Tourism Industry Confederat­ion, Failte Ireland and Tourism Ireland.

Mr Walsh is the chief executive of Internatio­nal Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia and Vueling.
