Death of journalist Noel Reid

Family, friends and former colleagues will gather at the Killiney Castle Hotel at noon today to celebrate the life of Noel Reid, the former anchor of RTE’s horse racing coverage and a senior production journalist with the

Irish Independent and Sunday Independent. Noel passed away last Thursday in the care of his family and staff at St Vincent’s Hospital after a short illness. Noel also presented Saturday Sport on RTE and is remembered fondly by colleagues at Independent House as a talented journalist, equally adept at news and sport.

He is survived by his wife Marie, sons Alan, Paul and Robert and daughter Gillian, his sister Mary and by 11 grandchildren.
