Tom Ford Lips & Boys II Lip Colour in Bella, €35, Brown Thomas

Smaller than your average lipstick, and cheaper than your average Tom Ford lipstick, this shade is from the second wave of the Lips & Boys range of colours. It’s a red that has a great deal of pink in it, rendering it easier to wear than a classic scarlet. Satin in texture, it’s impactful but not stuffy, with the cocoa-butter and vanilla scent that is a signature of all Tom Ford lip products. “This glides on gorgeously and has an old-school glamour,” said a panellist, “but the light-catching shine means it’s not too grown-up.”
