What’s your life all about, Alfie?

HI, my name is Alfie and I live in Jigginstown Green, Naas. I come from a crazy family. My mom is Katie (four) and my dad is Rory (one). I am two years old and my birthday is October 1.

Katie and Rory love playing with me and my favourite games are playing catch with the tennis ball, chewing on Katie’s teddies and going for walks in the forest. I also love a long sleep in front of the fire and relaxing on the couch.

Katie and Rory’s mom (Karen) and dad (Mike) are good to me too. Mike sometimes takes me for a run. Karen also takes me for walks along the canal — and sometimes I jump in.

I am a well-travelled dog and love spending time in the car. I go to Clare and Fermanagh regularly. It’s nice to get away from the normal routine for a break sometimes — plus the Clare and Fermanagh countrysides are beautiful.

I usually eat dog nuts and water for dinner. But I’m always happy to eat whatever scraps are going. I never turn down a nice bit of meat.

Katie and Rory are the best parents I could ask for. I love giving them big slobbery kisses and hiding in their beds (when Karen isn’t looking). Katie says that she wants to be a vet when she grows up. I hope she does, because she would be a very good one. She takes me for my vaccinations, when I need to go, and holds my paw when I am getting injections. She is also on hand whenever I need a bath.

Rory is as strong as a horse and I love rolling around the floor playing with him. He is still very young, but is almost able to pronounce my name (pronounced A-bie).

Karen’s brother has a few dogs of his own (poodles). I like catching up with them when I get the chance. They are a bit too rough though and have no manners.

I am only in my teenage (dog) years so I am still a young pup.

When I am older, I hope that I can settle down with another dog, who I have a lot in common with, and maybe have a few little pups of my own. But I will always love my family and I am blessed to live in such a great home.
