Sport Endorse signs up NFL heavy hitters to new app

-

PLAYER agency Sport Endorse has bagged some serious heavy hitters — literally — for its new sports talent app.

Ten high-profile NFL American footballers and NBA basketball players — including Tennessee Titans’ wide receiver Corey Davis, New York Giants’ Evan Engram and Boston Celtics’ Romero Langford — have signed up to the Irish-based app that hopes to become the Airbnb of sporting talent procurement.

Sport Endorse co-founder Trevor Twamley told Ergo that while the Dublin agency had been in the US for some time, the new signings marked a significant milestone for the business.

“Beginning a relationship with such highcalibre athletes engaged in two of the biggest sporting leagues in the world illustrates that we are serious about doing business in mainstream sport in America,” he said.

The American footballers and basketballers join another big recent signing by the agency — Dublin five-in-a-row hero Dean Rock — for an app that allows companies to find and directly book sports stars for corporate work.

“Not many of the lads on the Dublin team have agents at the moment,” Rock told Ergo. “Most of it goes through Dublin County Board or lads handle it themselves. But being involved with this is obviously great for my own profile.”

As well as being the Dubs’ free-taking ace, Rock is head of fundraising for intellectual disability charity Stewarts Care.

“It’s a unique time in our lives in terms of our achievement winning the All Ireland. As amateur footballers, we all have jobs to go back to, so it’s important to put yourself out there.”
