Triona’s Beauty
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’ve started baking.
And it made me think how when you follow a recipe, it’s kinda crucial that you use the ingredients in the right order.
The same applies to how you layer your skincare.
My general rule is to go by texture and consistency — the thinner, watery formulas go first, so they can be easily absorbed without the barrier of a heavier product. 1. Cleansers: the first step to your routine should always be to cleanse your face, obvs.
In the evening, double cleanse — the first cleanse will remove your make-up, and the second will remove everything else. Try Pixi Double Cleanse, above, €31. It’s a two-in-one jar — one side is solid cleansing oil and other side is a cleansing cream. 2. Toners: An acid toner gets your skin working. For blemish-prone skin, you need something with salicylic acid. Toners with glycolic acid will boost collagen production. 3. Serums have a higher concentration of active ingredients and can travel far deeper thanks to the tiny molecules.
4. Eyes and Lips: Use your ring finger when applying product to the eye area; it has a more delicate touch compared to your other fingers. I use Eucerin Acute Lip Balm, €8, all year round for perfectly smooth lips. 5. Moisturiser. 6. SPF: I’m a big fan of
Skingredients 04 Skin Shield, right, €42. It contains SPF 50, to shield skin from UVA and UVB rays and infrared and HEV light — the light emitted from computers and screens.
