My life as Ted, the doggy superhero

IT’S not easy being a superhero, well just for one day, thanks to a great Halloween party.

I am Ted, a real cockapoo. I am only one year and two months old and I started out on the rocky road to Dublin from Longford, where a nice young family could no longer care for me any more.

I guess you could call me a “rescue” or a super-rescue and that’s what I am.

Like most superheroes I know, we say with one bound I broke free and started a new and very happy life.

So what’s a typical day like, I hear you ask?

I rise early at around 6.30am. It’s a quick visit to the garden to address early business issues and then wait for a fun-filled day ahead.

While the humans are off to work, I am taken to visit my best pal Marley, a gorgeous cloud of love, fun and kisses.

Marley shares a home with a lovely human family and little Sadie really loves me cause she keeps telling me so, and I believe her.

I guess if I had a chance to have another superhero dream I would wish I came back as Batman and Marley could be my Robin, he’s that kinda guy.

I love the odd break and trips to Dingle are great for the spirit, despite the long drive. The plan is always to stop off at the lovely Adare and have a break with runs and some good barks. Eventually, we arrive in Kerry and while the humans are in a restaurant or a bar, I always get a mighty welcome and sit at their feet and soak up the atmosphere which is great. The beaches in Dingle are great fun for runs too.

In my short life, I have met many exceptional humans with great gifts.

Not tasty sweet treats like chicken or liver, but in a canny way of teaching me tricks and good manners when out and about, particularly when on the lead.

I have also mastered giving the paw, the other paw and rolling over, and not making a complete idiot of myself when the doorbell rings. This is all thanks to Vanessa from Donadea Doggy Day Care Centre.

Life is like a smiley happy dandelion on a summer day.
