The queen of rental fashion
The fashion fanatic and entrepreneur talks to Chloe Brennan about her favourite people, places and things
The person
My boyfriend, Conor — we are together for eight years and counting!
The memory
When I and my family lived in Spain for two years. Not a lot of Spanish was learned, but certainly lots of friendships and memories were made!
The moment of the day
Early in the morning, before everyone is awake. I love the feeling of getting things done before the morning hustle and bustle.
The song
They Live In You by Samuel E Wright in The Lion King. I went to see The Lion King in NYC last year on Broadway, with Emilie, Kate and Jess, and this song has been my favourite ever since.
The movie
The Intern.
The book
Oh My God, What A Complete Aisling by Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen.
The hero
My mum, SallyAnn. She helped us to run Borrower Boutique while I spent six months in Australia.
The outfit
An Alice + Olivia dress that I wore to a wedding. I had saved up for ages to buy it, and when we introduced the Premium Collection to Borrower Boutique, I thought. ‘Why not let others enjoy wearing it as much as I did?’
The accessory
A scrunchie. I put my hair up and I’m ready to work.
The gadget
I spend a lot of time on my phone for my work — so my portable phone charger is something I cannot live without.
The friend
My girls — you know who you are.
The pet hate
Negativity.
The smell
Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford.
The drink
There’s nothing like a good cuppa!
The holiday
Fiji was spectacular. The people were so kind and welcoming.
The advice
The two pieces of advice I live by are: Always be kind, you never know what’s going on in people’s lives; and everything happens for a reason.
The bar
Rae’s on Wategos in Byron Bay. However, there is no place like the Horse & Hound in Delgany, especially around Christmas time.
The beauty product
Santa Maria Novella Acqua Di Rose [rose water].
The hobby
I love spinning, but I’m not sure if it loves me!
The part of my body
My hair. I was blessed with thick hair, just like my grandparents, Bill and Sally.
The celebrity
I was lucky enough to meet Jennifer Hyman, CEO of Rent the Runway [a fashion and technology/logistics company]. A truly inspiring woman!
The virtue
Patience. All good things come to those who wait.
The vice
Never saying no.
The taste
My dad Gabriel’s scrambled eggs. I think it’s the whole tub of butter and salt that he adds that makes them so tasty — they are divine.
