Guitarist Dave Flynn is the first of Dun LaoghaireRathdown Co Council and Music Network’s three Musicians-in-Residence for 2020 — and from now to July, you can join Dave and guests in the guitar training centre on the social media channels of the council and the Music Network. The residency will culminate on July 30 at 7pm with the online premiere of the new work, Dun Laoghaire Guitars.

Opera lovers can lighten their lockdown with Irish National Opera’s partnership with Istituto Italiano di Cultura Dublino, presenting a series of bite-sized sessions from the singers’ own homes. Streaming on YouTube and the INO Facebook page from Friday at 5pm, singers Naomi Louise O’Connell, Carolyn Dobbin, Aoife Miskelly, Gavan Ring and Rory Dunne will perform arias, accompanied by pianist Aoife O’Sullivan.

Carlow Arts Festival will live-stream #SLICE2 on June 6, featuring a stellar line-up. From Exotic v Baskin ,a Tiger King-inspired micro-opera, to the latest offering from Cian Kinsella (of comedy dance duo Lord of Strut) plus Crash Ensemble’s CrashLand, the festival showcases a range of acts from circus, opera, theatre, art, writing and music.
