His father, François senior, is the 23rd wealthiest person in the world, and the younger man is the force behind a luxury goods group which owns brands like Gucci and Alexander McQueen. He and Hayek met in 2006 at a gala at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice and announced their engagement at the same time as they shared the news of Hayek’s pregnancy in March 2007.

Miranda Kerr

Beauty and money go together — so it’s perhaps no surprise that when former Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr met Snapchat founder (and the youngest billionaire in the world) Evan Spiegel, a friend sitting alongside them predicted that they would eventually get married. The wedding came to pass three years ago in San Francisco. They now have three children together and are worth about $3.5bn.

Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon was already an actor, TV host, and rapper worth about $25m when he met superstar Mariah Carey. However when they married in 2008, many of Mimi’s fans felt her $500m fortune was at the very least a strong incentive. Still, by the time they divorced eight years later, he got a mere $2.7m settlement, and they agreed to co-parent their twins. The Emotions singer also signed over a Ferrari to Cannon.
