Triona’s top trends

Never in a million years could I have imagined putting a mask on and going into a bank and asking for money! But this is our new normal now, so let’s make the most of it and go all-out on our eye make-up. Remember, face masks create a humid environment that can lead to clogged pores and breakouts around the nose, mouth, and chin, so try using a tinted moisturiser with skin benefits, or the Helio Skincare 360 Colour Cushion Compact I’ve mentioned in Most Wanted, far left.

The Bobbi Brown Dual-Ended Eye Shadow Stick, above left, €32.50, is so quick and easy to use. It’s available in three colourways — I like the Dusty Mauve/Malted Pink combination the best.

I use my finger to pop it on my eyelids and then I buff out the edges with a brush — my eyes are done in a nanosecond. Eyeliner can be so tricky, but it really is worth the effort when you get it right. I’ve been known to do one eye beautifully and then totes mess up the other, giving myself a mismatched, mad look. The trick is to do your ‘bad’ eye first — the one you find difficult — and gradually build up. Black is so basic and brown can be blah, so right now I’m loving Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Liner, right, €25. It’s an intense berry colour, and it’s so flattering with every eye colour. The texture is really soft, and if you muck up your line, you can just blend out the mistake with a brush. Finish off your look with a swipe of Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, €30, harveynichols.ie
