Street Rockers celebrate gold win

DUNDALK’S Crystal Ice dance crew, the ‘Street Rockers’ had the midas touch at the Hip Hop Internatio­nal all Ireland finals when they scooped gold at the huge event in Mac Theatre, Belfast, at the end of May.

Their golden performanc­e means that the talented dancers have now qualified to represent Ireland at the World Hip Hop Internatio­nal finals which will be held in Las Vegas on August 16th.

It was a very special win for the Dundalk crew, coming after four years of hard slog for these five talented dancers to achieve gold.

Last year they came so close to winning the top home sliver.

But 2016 was to be their year! ON Sunday 29th May, they achieved their dream and topped off years of hard work by winning gold in their age group.

The Dundalk dancers also scooped first place in the ‘Overall Crew’ with the highest scores against all other age segments at spectrum hip hop in the City North Hotel Dublin.

The medal wins come after a host of successes for the Crystal Ice dance school over the last few years.

For anyone interested in signing up for dance classes, they are hosting an open day on Saturday June 11th for new members between 3pm and 4pm.

New members can pop along and get all the informatio­n they need.
