A South Armagh man has been charged with trying to get a PPS number in Dundalk under another name.
Sean McGlade, (25), Ummerican Road, Silverbridge, is accused of trying to fraudulently obtain a PPS number in a different man’s name at the Department of Social Protection, Dundalk on September 28 2014.
Judge Hamill was told the DPP had directed that the case could be heard at the district court. Solicitor Conor MacGuill said McGlade was entering a not guilty plea and the case was adjourned for hearing to October 26.
A Dundalk publican has been summonsed for alleged breaches of the liquor licensing legislation.
Marina Murphy, (51), 26 Clermont Manor, is accused of late opening at Jackie Murphys, Dublin Road, on December 20. The case was adjourned to July 20 when a plea will be entered. ing Christmas decorations, worth less than €20 from the Indoor Market in Clanbrassil Street and from Dealz, Earl Street on the same day.
He also pleaded guilty to taking six mugs, worth €9, from Dealz on February 22 and to stealing three baskets of cosmetics, worth €104, from McCabes at the Long Walk on November 2.
He has 26 previous convictions and has been fined and give community service in the past including 100 hours in 2013. Solicitor Frank McDonnell said his client was willing to complete community service once more and also wanted the opportunity to address the issue of compensation.
Judge Hamill adjourned the case for the community service suitability report and compensation to July 20.
