The ladies played The Dreadnots in the penultimate round of the Intermediate league on Friday evening. The final score was 1-10 to 0-10 in favour of The Drednots. There were some very solid performances in the backs with goal keeper Leanne Sharkey making some super saves. Grainne Carrie and Jeni Devlin controlled midfield and set up many scores with Jeni scoring two points herself. Marianne Hullen was on from getting three points while Laura Sharkey and Denise Moynagh got two a piece and Ciara McMahon added one point. Naomh Fionnbarra played well throughout and were very unlucky not to come away with a win. Better luck next time girls.

We also had a team taking part in the Stephen Melia 7s competition on Sunday 19th August in memory of a true Louth Gael Stephen Melia with funds donated to IMNDA (Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association). The panel for the day was: Bryan Sharkey, Hugh McGrane, Colin McGrane, Pádraig Butterly, John Doyle, Conor Osborne, Hugh Osborne, Máirtín Murphy and Pádraig Murphy. The lads lost to Cooley in the first game, then beat O’Connells to qualify for a play-off against St. Mary’s Ardee. The lads beat St. Mary’s and qualified for the Quarter Final v Clogherhead Dreadnots. However, due to a number of injuries sustained the lads had to withdraw from the competition. Well done lads.
