THE seniors enjoyed a had a 2-9 to 1-10 victory over Cuchulainn Gaels in the semi-final of the Kevin Mullen Plate last Tuesday. Congratulations to all involved. The players now face Lannleire in the final. Date and venue TBC.
Condolences are extended to the family and friends of the late Michael (Mickey) McShane, Club President. Mickey served as Club Secretary of firstly, St Malachys, in the 1930s and 1940s and secondly, Naomh Malachi for altogether 50 years. He provided unrelenting service to our club during his term of office and was held in the highest esteem by all club members. The numbers of people who attended Mickey’s wake and funeral was testament to his character. Ní bheidh a leitheid arís ann. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Underage training continues every Wednesday evening in the clubrooms. Under 5/6s start at 6.30pm, with the older kids starting at 7pm. All children in the area are invited to attend. Tickets are now on sale for the 50th Anniversary celebrations which take place on Saturday, August 13th in the clubrooms. There will be a five-course meal with music and lively chat. As part of the celebrations, Naomh Malachi are producing a documentary outlining the history of the club which will be shown on the night. Thank you to those who have contributed photographs and video footage to the documentary.
