Emphasis on fun and laughs at family day

- Head of Dundalk Karate Sensei Mary Marcus 2nd Dan with Members of Dundalk Karate at a recent Annual Dundalk Karate Fun Day.

THE Annual Dundalk Karate Fun Day saw members trade their GIs for tracksuits and tee-shirts, Tatami Matts for Bouncy Castles and water for squash and lots of smiles, laughs and fun.

Following some excellent results over the past three years the Dundalk Karate Committee consisting of Mary Marcus, Maria Hoey and Caz Maher decided that it was time to give back to all its members, family and friends with a little fun and some team building.

Mary said: ‘It’s great to see everyone coming together and having fun, laughs and some well earned treats.

‘Normally we only come together in the Redeemer Family Resource Centre for training, or at competitions or seminars, so it was nice to see every- one - including parents, family members and friends - enjoy a few hours of fun with the whole of Dundalk Karate.’

Dundalk Karate members are currently training hard for the upcoming inaugral CIKA European Championships which are being held in the National Basketball Arena later this year, and with the school year coming to an end soon, members aren’t letting the recent warm weather or the summer holidays hold them back.

Training continues throughout the summer months in the Redeemer Family Recourse Centre.

Why not drop by any Monday or Thursday evening from 7pm - or alternatively contact Sensei Marcus on 086-3531625 or send an email to karatequeen@live. com. New members are always welcome.
