The club enjoyed both the joy and despair of playoff hole victory and defeat during the last week.

Paddy Malone led his Rossmore Cup team to a marvellous playoff hole victory on home soil on Sunday. Having suffered a 4-0 and 14 hole defeat the previous day at Down Royal Paddy, changed his team for the return to great advantage. Benny Tierney and Raymond Flynn were involved in the playoff hole with Raymond holing the winning putt to progress to a quarter final match with Killymoon or Spa.

The Senior Cowdy team bowed out of the competition at the first tie hole at Dungannon following a terrific match that saw the sides share the 64 points on offer but a 20 foot birdie putt at the playoff hole saw us very unlucky to bow out following some great matches against much more lower handicap golfers.

The Junior Cowdy team led by Captain Frank Ryan travelled to Co. Armagh in a strong position for the second leg holding a 4-0 and 18 hole lead after the home leg and comfortably progressed to the next round.

Our Juvenile Ronan Rafferty team will play St Patrick’s on Wed and Thursday of this week.

The Back 9 Green Markers did not produce it’s usual high scoring in the Wednesday Cup but that will not bother Seamus Keenan who claimed a place in the final following a countback victory over Jarly Og Burns after both had tied on 22 points.

Tommy Campbell (12) captured the third round of the Seniors Maritime Trophy on Thursday with a return of 40 points. Fr Kevin Cullen (18) finished runner-up edging out 82 year old Noel Williams (23) on the countback after both posted 39 points.
