U14 VICTORY

The team: Calum Mulholland; Calum Bourton, Adam Duffy, Kyle McFadden; Conall Quinn 0-1, Shane McMenamin, Conor Conway; Aaron Crawford, Mark McShane; Joe Lennon, Liam Cawley 3-0, Rory Kirk; Cillian McKenna, Patrick Murtagh 0-2, Gerard Finnegan. Subs used; Pauraic McGee, Conal Brady 1-0, Niall Quigley, Morgan Quigley 0-1, Brian Brady 1-1, Shay Coleman. After the game refreshmen­ts were served to players from both teams with special thanks to Last Lap cafe, parents for making sandwiches and Naomh Malachi for the use of their function room and was greatly appreciate­d by all.

They played on Saturday in the Leinster Feile in The Downs in Westmeath and won all three games, 6-8 to 2-5 over The Downes, 6-10 to 3-11 over St Brochans from Offaly and 5-8 to 1-10 over Ballboden St Enda’s. Well done to all the team and mentors and the parents who provided transport, also to the Downes Club for their hospitalit­y.

MICHAELA FOUNDATION

The Michaela Foundation are currently recruiting fun loving leaders aged 17+ years to volunteer at the upcoming Michaela Foundation Summer Camp in Louth. The Camp for girls aged 11-13 will take place in St. Kevins NS Philipstow­n, Dunleer from July 11–July 15. Applicants can apply to volunteer, within one of the five key elements of Fun, Faith, Fashion, Well-being and Fáilte.

BLESSING OF THE GRAVES

The Annual Blessing of Graves will take place on Sunday July 10, during the 10.30 a.m. Mass in the Cemetery.

POINT NUMBER 1000 FOR SHANE

The senior team play in the league this Friday at 8.00pm away to St Fechins and last Saturday beat O’Connells 3-10 to 2-12 having led 2-7 to 0-6 at half way. Shane Lennon hit 1-9, Sean Hand 1-1, James Fegan 1-0. Shane Lennon hit the first point of the game which was point number 1000 for his club and added 1-8 to that, so his total now is 115-1008. What a record and high standard to follow for those other players lining out alongside him.

The U 12 team play at home to Cuchulainn Gaels on Friday July 8. The U13 team play on Wednesday July 13 away to Roche. The U16 team play at home Martins this Wednesday June 29 and on Monday July 4 away to Marys.

The minors play on Monday July 11, at home to Hill/O’Mahoneys. No luck for captain Cathal Bellew, Sean Hand, Tadhg McEneaney and Ciaran Bellew with the county juniors in the Leinster Football Final defeat against Wexford.

The junior team lost to Newtown Blues 2-14 to 2-6, with Shaun McElroy 0-3,Donal McElroy and Ray Mulholland 1-0 each, Rian Hand 0-2, Conal McEneaney 0-1 and play away this Sunday morning to St Marys at 11.30am.

The minors finished level away to Mattock Rangers/Hunterstow­n 1-6 to 0-9, with Liam Kindlon 0-2,
