IT’S that time of the year that we all look forward to - the championsh­ip! Congrats to the Dreadnots Seniors who defeated Geraldines on Sunday evening on a scoreline of 0-15 to 2-5.

Friday last saw Dreadnots GFC hold their Annual Golf Classic in Seapoint Golf Club. The winning team, with a score of 57.5, were Pepe Smith, Mark Gorham, Dermot Mc Morrow and John McAuley. Second place went to the team of Niall Kerbey who were narrowly beaten on the countback.

The club would like to thank all sponsors who donated generously, and of course those who played.

Dreadnots’ U-12 boys were defeated last Friday by Sean O’Mahony’s.

As part of the Gear up Game on campaign in conjunctio­n with the Drogheda Independen­t, Argus and Fingal Independen­t, we are asking everyone to collect as many tokens for club gear. All tokens should be given to team coach or Padraig Rath this week.

The ‘Tinynots’ football programme is in full swing at the Dreadnots pitch every Saturday at 11am. This programme is conducted in a fun-filled environmen­t for four to six-year-olds. Contact: Derek Shevlin at 086-8266404.

The Annual Louth Poc Fada took place on Clogherhea­d beach last Tuesday. There was a great turnout and the local juvenile teams entertaine­d the crowds with ‘Beach Hurling’, conducted inside an inflatable pitch.

A last reminder of the Dreadnots GAA Cúl camp, scheduled for 25th – 29th July. Places can be booked online at gaa.ie/kelloggscu­lcamps or contacting Paul Aspell.

The club Bingo takes places every Monday night in the community hall at 8.30. The Bingo generates much-needed funds for the club on an annual basis and needs to be supported. Come along, have some fun and win some great cash prizes!

The Clogherhea­d 10k seaside run is this Sunday and promises to be a fun-filled family day out. Registrati­on for runners is now open and support is appreciate­d.

An AAI approved event chipped and timed event with closed roads, there are prizes for the top three and age categories and Tech T- shirts for the first 300 entrants. There is also a family fun run before the main event, plus free car parking and apres-race street fair and entertainm­ent.
