RECENT DEATHS

Sympathy is extended to the Gernon and Fitzgerald families on the death of Bridie Kearney (nee Gernon), 28, School Lane, Dunleer who died on July 2, 2016. Bridie was sister of Patsy Gernon, Greyacre and of Mary Fitzgerald, Donaghmore, Carrick Road.

EMMETS GFC

The U12, Kilkerley Emmets/ Naomh Malachi lost 5-11 to 7-9 against Cuchulainn Gaels. Aidan Corrigan, Ronan Deery lead this team from midfield manfully, defence was well marshalled by An- drew Begley, Andrew Thornton, Diarmuid McEneaney and Rowan Harmon, while Tom Clarke, Jon Eaton, Dean Murtagh, Tiernan McKenna kept the scoreboard ticking over. Ryan Mc Eneaney, and Cormac Mallon also had top performanc­es as had Andrew Begley. They play away to Glyde on July 22 at 7.30pm.

The U13 team play this Wednesday July 13 away to Roche. The minors play at home to St Brides on Thursday July 18.

The senior team lost in the championsh­ip 1-11 to 1-9 against Sean O’Mahoneys, Tadgh McEneaney 0-4, James Fegan 1-0, Shane Lennon 0-2, Cathal Bellew, Sean Hand and Shaun McElroy 0-1 each.

The U 16 team lost to St. Mary’s 2-16 to 0-6. U16 B League Semi Final is this Thursday in Páirc Eamoin at 19:30 against St Patricks. U13 this Wednesday at 7.30pm away to Roche. Sympathy to the Gernon family on the death of Bridie Kearney, Dunleer.
