Win boosts ‘Mor league credentials

-

MUIRHEVNAMOR pulled three points clear at the head of the table following a 4-2 win over close neighbours Doolargy on Thursday night.

They capitalised on Redeemer’s slip up the previous night when they surrendered a 2-0 lead and had to be satisfied with a 3-3 draw with fourth placed Rampart Celtic.

Brendan Hughes helped himself to brace of goals, with Mickey O’Kane and Gary Clarke scoring one apiece for the Muirhevnamor.

Connor Murray and Declan Grimes bagged a goal each for Doolargy who had reason for complaint about the winners’ final two goals that looked like they should have been ruled out for offside.

Bay were expelled after failing to fulfil their fixture with Quay Celtic. Likewise Muirhevnamor Celtic who also failed to fulfil two fixtures which carries automatic suspension for the rest of the season.

Redeemer benefited with the points from their scheduled game with Muirhevnamor Celtic going to them, and put them back level with Muirhevnamor, with one more match played.

In a high scoring tussle on Monday night Doolargy edged Fane by the odd goal in seven to consolidate their place in the top four competition for which the draw takes place tonight (Tuesday). Damien Bailey was Doolargy’s scoring hero with a hat-trick.

The competition is sponsored by CX+ Sport, the main sponsors of the league and also of the the Bottom Three competition, the draw for which is also tonight.
