COFFEE MORNING

St Brides Ladies Football Club host their annual coffee morning on Monday next August 15 in the Parish Centre after the blessing of graves. All welcome.

NEW PARISH PRIEST

Fr Paddy Rushe who is assisting in the Parish for the summer will be available in the Parish Office (Fr McGinnity’s House) from 10.00 to 11.00am on Mondays and 7.00-8.30pm on Wednesdays for drop- in appointmen­ts, certificat­es, marriage papers etc. In addition to Fr. Gerry Campbell’s current appointmen­t as Parish Priest of Kilkerley, Archbishop Eamon Martin has appointed him Parish Priest of Knockbridg­e.

Fr. Paddy Rushe has been appointed as curate of Kilkerley in addition to his chaplaincy to DKIT. Fr. Gerry will reside in Knockbridg­e and Fr. Paddy in Kilkerley. Archbishop Eamon will induct Fr. Gerry as Parish Priest of Knockbridg­e on Sunday, September 4, at 11.00a.m. Mass. We welcome Fr. Paddy to the parish and we pray he will be very happy in his life and ministry among us.

The Parish Pastoral Councils of Knockbridg­e and Kilkerley will meet in the Community Enterprise Centre, Kilkerley this Thursday, August 11, at 7.00p.m. to discuss the parish changes. All members are asked to make a special effort to attend this important meeting.

VINTAGE CLUB

Knockbridg­e Vintage Club are celebratin­g their 10th Anniversar­y this year.

To mark this milestone, they are compiling a special Commemorat­ive Book, which will be available at the Vintage Day on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Anyone interested in taking an advertisem­ent in the book or having a story, photo or poem included, please email your details to knockbridg­evintagecl­ub@hotmail.com.

The Irish Wheelchair Associatio­n take up the annual church gate collection this coming weekend.

BLESSING OF GRAVES

This is a special time in the life of the community and church, on August 15, when usually many gather from far and wide to return to their family plot and remember their deceased family and friends in prayer. If you can do a little tidying in the lead up to the blessing in order to have the cemetery looking its best it will be appreciate­d.

Senior Hurling Championsh­ip at 8.15pm this Thursday, Knockbridg­e play Pearse Óg in Darver.
