SARAH IS THE NEW FACE OF DUNNES STORES’ SAVIDA

-

Head to Dunnes Stores looking for clothes for the coming season and you will see images of stunning Dundalk model Sarah Tansey, who was unveiled earlier this month as the new face of the Irish company’s Savida range for AW16.

Sarah says she was particularly happy about being asked to do the job, which was photographed at one of Ireland’s most beautiful country houses.

She told the Argus: ‘ The Savida job came through my Irish agent Andrea Roche. I was actually just back from working in Greece for a few weeks when that came up.

‘It was a really lovely job, everyone on the team was really talented and it’s always nice to get to see the new designs coming out.

‘We shot it in Powerscourt Hotel in Wicklow which is absolutely gorgeous - I always enjoy being back working with Irish clients. I’m currently represented by Andrea Roche in Ireland, Models1 in London and Wilhelmina in New York’.

She has been compared to Russian model Irina Shayk and recently, influential website shemazing.net said of Sarah: ‘Irina, who is currently dating Bradley Cooper, is ranked as the eighth best model in the world, according to models.com, but she may have some competition.

‘Sarah Tansey is an Irish model who is making her way in the fashion and beauty industry, one gorgeous picture at a time. When looking at Sarah, 28, we had to do a double-take due to her INSANE resemblance to Irina’.

‘Sarah has mystifyingly blue eyes, and fantastically chiselled cheekbones, much like her Russian counterpart. The Dundalk native has featured in a number of magazine spreads, for both fashion and beauty, while also having been the face of designer brands such as VULKAN.

Sarah says she’s busy for the rest of the year, but is enjoying some quiet time in Ireland at the moment. She said: ‘I’m going to continue working in Ireland/Europe until the end of August and then back to New York to work with Wilhelmina in September. I’m really enjoying being home for now though’.

Models enjoy access to some of the most culturally influential people in the world - po stars, film producers, actors, sports stars. But don’t expect Sarah to be name-dropping all over the place - she’s confessed she’s ‘ terrible’ at spotting celebs.

She laughed: ‘I was just talking to someone about this the other day I am terrible at celebrity spotting! I worked on a Woody Allen movie last year in New York and was sitting beside Jesse Eisenberg (Academy Award nominee for his role as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network in makeup, I walked past him to grab a coffee from the refreshments table and back again to my seat and had no idea until after he left and the makeup artist said it to me. I’m a disaster!’
