RACHAEL’S Room preschool opened on the grounds of Shelagh National School on September first this year and marks the very first preschool in the area, with parents and children alike are thrilled by this new addition to the community.

The service is run by Rachael Conlon and offers free ECCE preschool and after school classes.

The preschool at Rachael’s Room is open to children from three years and up and is based on Aistear and Síolta, the government standards for quality early years education. The afterschool classes are open to all children of primary school going age and inquiries are always welcome from parents.

Rachael, who is from Inniskeen, is passionate about the field and is highly qualified and experienced, having worked in the sector for years with an honours degree in Early Childhood Education.

She said: ‘Providing the best start in life to all children who come here is of the utmost importance to me’. She said she had decided to set up in Shelagh because there was a ‘great need’ for the service.

‘So far, everything is going really well and I have been delighted with the response and the positive feedback. There is a real buzz around about it and things are going great’.
