LADY Captain Sylvia Boyle did not have the weather man on her side as she hosted her Lady Captains Day for the male members on Sunday.

The morning started off brightly but the forecasted rain soon arrived to put the damper on proceeding­s but not on the scoring which was hot given the conditions.

Early starter Paul Kelly (6) set the bar high with a return of 41 points which held sway for a few hours until Maurice Rickard (28) took over as new leader with 42 points. But the day belonged to Damien Reilly (15) who birdied the last for 43 points to take the honours from Maurice who was making his first Cloverhill podium finish with Paul picking up third prize. The Gross was won by David Pilkington (4) with the Front 9 going to Cathal Hughes (18) with 22 points and the Back 9 to Jim Conroy (15) with 20 pts.

President Frank Ryan will be hosting his prize giving day next Sunday Sept 25. Timesheet is already filling up fast.

Only two weeks of qualifying left for securing your place in the 18 hole Wednesday Cup final which will take place on Sunday October 21. Seamus Keenan won the Front 9 Green markers for his second Wed Cup win whilst Liam O Hare was making sure that he was not going to be the odd one out of his group by picking up his final berth with a 26 points haul over the Back 9 Green markers.
