FOROIGE

Knockbridg­e Foroige Club are seeking volunteers in order to reopen this coming year. Informatio­n and registrati­on evening in St. Brides clubrooms on Thursday, October 6, at 7.30 pm sharp. PARISH NEWS

Mass times on week days are Monday at 7.30pm, Wednesday at 9.30am and Friday at 7.30pm. Saturday evening mass is at 7.30pm and Sunday morning mass is at 11.30am.

Fr Gerry is planning to expand both the Pastoral Council and Finance Committees so if you are interested in becoming involved in either committee please contact Fr Gerry.

The Annual All Irish Pilgrimage to St Brigids Shrine, Faughart, this Sunday at 3.00pm.

YOGA

Yoga Classes continue in Knockbridg­e Community Centre each Tuesday, from 7.00pm to 8.00pm. Special for September is that you can get your first Class for €5. For more details contact Alan on 0857326964.

VINTAGE DAY

The Anderson Family’s Annual Vintage Threshing will be held this Sunday, September 25, at 2.00pm at the home of John & Betty Anderson, Reaghstown, Ardee. There will be the usual tea/coffee, cakes, buns and scones served in the barn afterwards. Again this year we will have a donation bucket with all proceeds going towards Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin; another extremely worthy cause and we look forward to your continued support. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

SET DANCING

SCHOOL DRAMA CLUB

The best man was Paul Malone friend of the groom and the duties of groomsman were performed by Craig Englishby. The ring bearer was Amy Englishby. The chief celebrant was Fr. Sean Mc. Ardle P.P. Louth assisted by former P.P. Fr. Sean Quinn. Incidently this was Fr. Mc. Ardle first wedding as Parish Priest. The happy couples reception was held in Darver Castle were all who attended really enjoyed themselves. We send our best wishes to the happy couple all the best for the future.

We also send our best wishes and congratula­tions to Eddie Filgate who celebrated his 101st birthday last Friday. Eddie represente­d the area first as a Councillor and then as a T.D. We wish Eddie many more birthdays.

NEW PARISH PRIEST

Next Sunday sees the induction of new Parish Priest Fr. Sean Mc. Arldle. Please note this Mass will be at 11.00 clock am and not the normal time of 10.00am. Also please note there will be no Mass in Stonetown that day. There will be small reception in the School after the Mass.

FUNDRAISER

After a very successful fund raiser The Girl Guides have raised enough monies to purchase a Defibrilla­tor. They now need to send people on a course to learn how to use it and this will cost more monies. If anyone or business would like to give a donation please contact Mary Mc. VINTAGE CLUB

The Louth Abbey Vintage Club are currently holding a draw to raise monies for both schools in the Parish. Tickets are currently on sale. Tickets are €5 each or 3 for €10.
