Kerri takes up Lions Club chains

-

KERRI Fee-Malone, who is the new President of Dundalk Lions Club, is following in the footsteps of her father Gerry who was elected president twenty-five years ago.

‘It’s the first time in the history of the club that the daughter or son of a former President has followed their parent into ofice,’ says Kerri who works as a occupational therapist with Dundalk Primary Care.

As she received her chain of office, she noted that Dundalk Lions Club celebrates its 40th anniversary next year and said it was ‘an honour to be President for this auspicious occasion.’

She observed that the anniversary will be marked by Charter Dinner Dance (Black Tie & Ruby) in the Ballymascanlon Hotel on the February 24 2017.

‘I hope to see many of our friends, supporters, Members, both past and present, at this event which promises to be a wonderful night.’

‘We are a very busy and active club and have a number of on-going projects year round including our weekly Bingo in Clan na Gael Hall on Wednesdays at 8.30pm, newspapers for the visually impaired, weekly radio slot on Dundalk FM (Thursdays 8pm) and Meals on Wheels.

She added that she was ‘particularly looking forward to a few major projects including our Annual Weekend to Galway for our Senior Citizens and Carers and our Christmas Food Hamper Appeal which will involve distribution of over 250 Food Parcels to needy families locally.’

‘I look forward to the next 12 months and to putting the Lions Club motto ‘We Serve’ into practice.’ Kerri concluded by praising the work of all the members.

‘ The work of Dundalk Lions Club would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of the voluntary members of the Club and the support of the public.’
