Davey keeps his promise to wear wife’s wedding dress

-

We often hear of employees who live to regret sending off a rash email and Davey Caulwell from Blackrock is one of them.

However, the dad of two is not complaining as his promise to wear his wife’s wedding dress to work on Wedding Dress Wednesday has raised over €400 for Today FM’s Dare to Care campaign in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

Davey, who works in the marketing department of Servisource, explained that the company’s HR Manager had made the staff aware of the challenge.

‘She was trying to get the lovely ladies in the office involved and when there were no takers by 4pm on Tuesday, I sent round an email saying I’d put on my wife’s wedding dress if they could raise €200.’

Five minutes later the €200 was raised and Davey found himself squeezing into his wife Michelle’s wedding dress the next morning.

‘It was a spur of the moment email which ca me back to bite me,’ he laughed. However, he doesn’t regret it as it was all in aid of a good cause.

‘ There’s hardly a family that hasn’t been affected by cancer,’ he said.

His children had a great laugh when he dropped them off at school before going to work on Wednesday morning.
