ON Saturday night, I headed for the Windsor Bar where a special fundraising night was being held by Sinead Keenan from Bay Estate for the ‘A Smile For Ryan’ appeal. Ryan Coyle is a two-year old boy from Duleek who suffers from Stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer. He has already been through numerous invasive and aggressive treatments and his parents want to send him to America to acquire DFMO treatment but it costs $300k and the night was a fundraiser to help with his cause.

I was only in the door when I met up with Sinead from Bay Estate who said she had seen the ‘Smile for Ryan’ page on facebook and was so moved that she felt she wanted to help and decided to run the fancy dress night. She wanted to thank all her sponsors and everyone who donated, the bar and DJ whose services were provided free for the fundraiser.

After this I headed over for a word with Francene ‘Cruella’ Campbell from Castletown Road who was there on the night with her husband Gerry ‘Skeletor’ and her dad Brian McKeever from Doylesfort Road who were all up making the best of the night.

Not too far away I met up with Shauna McKeever from O’Hanlon Park there with Craig Dixon from Doolargy Avenue who had been moved by the page and was delighted to be there.

Heading for another table I then had the pleasure of talking to Suzanna ‘Undead Girl’ Partyka from Langfield who was with Emma ‘Catwoman’ McDonald from Grangebellew, Eoghan Lynch from Monasterboice, Gerard Moore from Clogherhead and Darren Corr from Drogheda who were all there to lend their support and make a mad night of it too.

I then made my way over for a word with Janice and Alex Watson who had travelled over form Ballybay specially for the fundraiser and were in great form when I caught up with them.

After this I caught up with Kaya Kalyorcaoghan from Distillery Lane who was in the company of Katie ‘ The Angel’ Treanor from Bay Estate who wanted to wish Sinead all the best with her night and all the best to Ryan with his struggle.

Seated close by I then got taking to Eoin and Katrine Sheahan from Carrick Road who were sitting with Sinead’s parents George and Kathleen Duffy from Faughart who were certainly making the best of the great sounds from DJ Paddy C.

Also in their company were Ciaran ‘Under Cover Cop’ Murphy from Faughart and Niamh ‘Witch’ McDonald from Bay Estate and Tracy ‘Witch 2’ Connolly from Ashbrook who wanted to wish Sinead all the best with her fundraiser on a great night.

Easily two of the best outfits on the night were that of Linda and Michael Stokes from Manydown Close who came as ‘ The Undead’ a and they wanted to thank Carly Stokes form the great make up she did for them.

Heading for another table I met up with John McCabe from Rock Road who was being questioned by Clare ‘ The Cop’ Rochford from Glenwood Emily Reilly from Stabannon and Claire ‘Catwoman’ Keaskin from Greenacres who were having a fantastic time at the fundraiser.

Seated close by were Aine ‘Mini Mouse’ O’Kane from Seabank and Fiona ‘Flapper’ Marks from Rock Road who were looking great and were definitely making the best of the night.

Finally, before I departed I met up with Dearbhla ‘Catwoman’ Reilly from Blackrock, Deirdre ‘Zombie’ McNally from Castlebellingham, Aisling ‘French Maid’ White from Seatown and David ‘Harry Potter’ Yore who were having a wild night while helping out a really worth cause.
