Cuchalainn Gaels hold their annual meeting

CUCHALAINN Gaels held their 2016 AGM on Wednesday night the 23rd of November, thank you to everyone that attended.

Thankfully Chairman Roddy McQuaid and Secretary Bernarde Sloan have agreed to stay on in these important roles for another term. The other positions filled on the night were Caitlin McArdle - Treasurer and Owen Dobbin - PRO.

There are a number of important positions still to be filled and would urge anyone interested in giving the club a pullout to come along to our next monthly meeting on Monday December 5 at 8:30pm in the Granvue Hotel and get involved!!

Omeath Tidy Towns in conjunction with Cuchulainn Gaels present “A Christmas Weekend” over the weekend of December 3rd.

Saturday 3rd - 2pm kids disco in the Strand Hotel followed by a Christmas workshop hosted by the local Scout group along with Santa arriving to meet the kids in Howes function room at 4pm, then at 5pm at the Crossroads there will be Carols, blessing of the tree, hot chocolate and mulled wine and Santa will switch on the lights on the Christmas tree, finally there will be a Christmas movie for all kids in The Granvue at 5.45pm.

Sunday 4th - Arco String Quartet will play in St. Laurences chapel at 8pm preceded by a drinks reception in the Dolmen centre at 7.15. Tickets are on sale in Mulligans, Corner House €12.50 each.

It was the last outing of the season for Cuchalainn Gaels 2016 U8’s team yesterday morning and we would like to say a big thank you to Mary McGuinness of Milano’s for supplying the after party food.

The club would also like to thank the U8’s team and their parents for their support throughout the year and also special thank you to the U8’s coaches Ciaran McDonnell and John O’ Hagan for all their hard work and commitment!
