Cooley Charity Christmas market

-

Cooley Charity Christmas market is a fundraising event for the Birches Alzheimer Day Care Centre. It stands apart from other markets. It’s top priority is not in how much money it will raise, rather it’s purpose is focused very much on creating awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and encouraging the public to use and be aware of the wonderful service which is The Birches. Trained caring staff of the Birches will be available in the hall should anybody wish to have a casual chat and cup of coffee.

Top prizes in Draw: The organisers of the market are thankful to Nevan Maguire for donating the first prize to the draw – Sunday lunch for two people at his award winning restaurant in Co. Cavan. The luxurious Slieve Russell Hotel have kindly completed the prize by offering a nights bed and breakfast for two people in their hotel in Co. Cavan. Tickets for this prize and many other valuable hampers and vouchers will be on sale at the market, priced at €2.

Christmas themed Kitchen: A warm welcome awaits everybody in Mrs Claus’s Christmas themed kitchen. Mrs Claus has a lovely treat of a free kookee waiting for the first 100 children who come and says hello to her in her amazing Christmas kitchen. Her ever helpful elves will be serving warm teas, coffees and Christmas delights for all weary shoppers. Christmas Cakes and Puddings:

All items offered for sale at the market have been donated free of charge. The ingredients for the Christmas cakes and puddings have also been donated. Doors open at 9 am and everything must be sold by 1 pm. Bargains will as always be in abundance and no reasonable offer will be refused for any item.

Thanks: The organisers wish to thank the many people who bake for the market, thanks to those who have donated items for sale, prizes for the raffle, and helped the market in so many ways. Words on paper can never express fully the gratitude felt for the level of support received in so many ways. On behalf of the families who use the services of The Birches, a big thank you is extended to all who are too numerous to mention.

Cooley Hall will be open to accept donations from 3 pm on Saturday December 3. For information on the market or to donate an item, please contact Anne at 086 3938289.
