On Friday night, I headed for the Lisdoo where a Club Awards and Christmas Evening was being held for St. Gerards AC who have had tremendous success over the previous year with 30 young athletes qualifying to compete in the Leinster and All Ireland finals with two special awards for Patience Jumbo- Gula and Kate O’Connor who represented St. Gerards and Ireland at international events.

I wasn’t too long in the door when I met up with club chairperson Anthony Woods from Fr. Murray Park who was with his daughter Claire and told me it was somewhat of a busy night but they were both looking forward to it.

Next I met up with Yvonne Haughey from Priorland Gardens who had daughter Amy with her and they were enjoying the company of Sandra and Rachel Culligan from Priorland who told me they were up for making the best of the party.

After this I headed over for a word with Colette Miele from Castlebellingham who was with Leah and Cara who were joined by Amanda Branigan from Lios Mead with her daughter Sadhbh and niece Olivia Kissane and friend Ellie McVeigh who told me they were going to have a fantastic night, even if Ellie’s mum Sinead was over in New York!

Not too long later I met up with Peter Bastible from Avenue Road who told me his kids Cathal, Sophie and Niall all absolutely love the club and were all having a mad time running around and going crazy at the party.

Making my way through the crowds I then got talking to Carrie Moonan from Castleross who was with Abaidh and Saoirse who were enjoying the company of Lorraine Moran from Park Avenue and kids Emily, Grainne, James and Thomas who were in great form when I caught up with them.

I then got a swift word with Atene Ambraziejute from Lis Na Dara who were with Abaidh and Saoirse who were having a brilliant time running around.

Making my way to another table I then caught up with Stephen and Sabrina Mulholland from Greenacres who told me they were with their kids Cailin, Hayden and Nicole and they were enjoying the company of Colin and Debbie Mullen from Mountain View who had

Ethan and Cillian with them and told me they were going to eat, dance and go crazy.

Next I caught up with Chloe White from Mooretown who was at her very first Disco Party and was loving it! She was with Kate and Jack White also from Mooretown who were delighted the night was such a success and told me the kids love the club.

Not too long later I met up with Aoife Murphy from Lis Na Dara who was with son Finn and told me it was a quiet night for parents and quite a mad one for the young athletes.

Next I met up with Sharon O’Callaghan from the Meadows who was with kids Ruaidhrí and Feidhlim who were up for making a night of it with Ronan and Ciara Campbell from Manydown Close who were with Hayden and thoroughly enjoying the festivities.

I then headed over for a chat with Kristina Ambraziejute from Lis Na Dara who was with her kids Atena and Mante who were having a time of it with Monica Lawlor from James Court and kids Courteney and Cassidy and the ladies told me the kids just love the club.

Making my way to another table I met up with Janet and Sean Mooney from Rockfield who were with kids Leah, Keeley and Seána who were all away going crazy ad dancing the night away.

Just arrived in were Tracey, Conor, Molly and Emma Whately from the Crescent who were with Emma’s buddy Amy Thornton from Priorland Gardens and were all ready to party.

I then caught up with Ian Clarke from Glenwood who was with kids Aaron and Grace and he was sitting having a laugh with Alan McEnteggart from Greenacres with kids Dara and Senan and were all on for a more than lively night.

Finally, before I departed I got talking to Aine Gorham from Brook Street who was with Ciara, Aoife, Conor and Niamh who were just getting ready to party the night away and as usual, the kids lasted longer in party mode than their parents.
