Shop local at Christmas

-

The Northside is one of the most historic parts of the town, where some of the town’s oldest and best known shops and businesses are located.

It has has undergone major development in recent years, and traders have moved in step with the expansion of the town, particularly the growth in housing. A prime reason is that the area has experienced one of the biggest jumps in housing, and the traders are keen to ensure that the much increased population has a choice, range and quality of shop and services that they deserve.

Convenience now is of paramount importance to shoppers along with value, and all the better if they can get these on their doorstep. Northside is also only a short walk away for those living in the area, and for years the Christmas dinner for many in town and far outside it’s boundaries has been bought in two of the leading poultry fish and pork butchers in the North East, namely Kieran’s and McCormick’s, whose businesses have expanded and have now other outlets in town.

Shopping local is what people got into the habit again during the recession, and these two shopping areas of town between them provide all that shoppers could possible need, especially at Christmas.

The prices offered by local shopkeepers are as competitive as anywhere and are renowned for the value they provide. As over the last few years the spirit of helping each other between shopkeeper and customers was renewed in this part of town.

Those on both sides of the counter relied on each other more than ever, with the trader relying on local trade to keep business going and maintain jobs, while the customers needed to obtain the best possible prices as they simply had less money to spend.

That relationship between shopkeeper and customers has existed all down the years on the Northside, and both parties will strive even harder now to make Christmas as happy as they can for each other, and also make it a better new year.

The shops, restaurants and licensed premises have built up a deserved reputation for the value they provide and that now is even greater. Personal attention and friendliness are also qualities that are synonymous with the area, with management and staff noted for their attention to detail, knowledge and helpfulness.

The shops are well stocked and attractively laid out with everything that shoppers need for Christmas and indeed their daily requirements throughout the year. The discerning shopper will never be disappointed no matter when he visits, with all the assurances that go with long-established, as well as family owned and run businesses and receiving the ultimate in care and attention.

There is an excellent selection of shops, all very eager to please customers, with the only desire of management and staff to assist and advise customers to the best of their ability and knowledge.

There is ample free car parking, and literally no distance to walk for those in cars. The facility is there literally to park outside the shop where you are going to shop.

By providing their customers with quality products at the keenest prices , coupled with a first rate service over the years, The Northside traders have ensured that shoppers are happy to shop where they are guaranteed a friendly and cheerful service, excellent quality and value all year round.
