OUR last port of call on New Year’s Eve was to the Rum House and as was expected the place was packed to capacity by the time we got there.

I wasn’t too long in the door before I got a word with Donna Farrell from Blackrock who was with Kelly O’Rourke from Cluan Enda, Finola McLoughlin from Blackrock and Brona McGahon from Inniskeen who were all looking stunning and said they remembered me for the Vodafone nights out, ah yes, those were the days!

Next I met Geraldine Kieran from Ardee Road and Derval Clancy from Ath Lethan who were looking great and were on to party the night away in one of the town’s most atmospheric pubs.

Seated close by were a bunch of lads who were certainly up for a mad one and they included Padhraig McAdam from Blackrock, Darren McMahon from Louth Village, James Costello from Knockbridge and Shane Quigley from Tallanstown who were just about ready for ‘ the games to begin’!

I then headed over for a chat with Claire McKenna from Haggardstown who was looking extremely well and she was joined by Ryan McGeough from Faughart and they were on for a wild night and Ryan said it certainly will be, once Claire had anything to do with it!

Making my way over to a table I then caught up with Roisin Hamill from Sheelagh and Lauren Grant from Silverbridge who were already in party mode. Roisin said that she was heading directly from the Rum House on her holidays and was heading off at 4.00am to fly to the sun!

Ready to make a food order was Denise Sharpe and Shane Dollard both from Ardee who tried to tell me they were on for a very quiet night, not if Denise had anything to do with it, I thought.

They were seated beside Damian and Patricia Smith from Kingswood who were looking forward to a more than lively introduction to 2017.

After this I got a word with Sarah Menagh from Muirhevnamor and Noelle Malone from Dromiskin who certainly weren’t there for a subdued night that was for sure.

Next I caught up with Néidín Flynn, Rhman Patai, Ciara Brennan and Alison Duffy who assured me now that they had got their seats it was going to be an epic night for sure.

After this I headed over for a quick word with Jennifer Morgan from Park Villas and Matthew McCrave from Hackballscross who were looking great and ready for a crazy night with everyone there.

Next I met up with Noirin McArdle from Forkhill and Natasha Coyle from Newry who told me that when these to norther girls get out together they just go mental.

Making my way through the crowds I met up with my old mate from school Liam McEnteggart and Cathy Gantly both from Meadow View who were looking well and told me they were really looking forward to seeing in the New Year together.

After this I headed over for a quick word with Laura Minford from Ashbrook who was with Stephen Breen from Dunleer who told me they were expecting it to be a fantastic night.

Finally, before I departed I got a word with Claire McArdle from Kilcurry, Aidan Reape and Dermot Treanor both from Jenkinstown who were on the lookout for some seats and assured me this was definitely going to be a brilliant night and wanted wish all their mates a happy 2017.
