Brubakers packed for New Year’s Eve party
EASILY one of the biggest nights of the year is New Year’s Eve and one place that is always worth a visit is Brubakers which was packed to capacity for this festive night.
I wasn’t too long in the door when I met up with a group who included Sean McLoughlan and James Treanor both from Creggan, Neil McCann from Glassdrummond and Jim Luckie from Anamar who were ready for a major night of celebration.
Not too long later I caught up with Gary Lynch from Ardee and Joseph Field from Slane who told me that Gary is a regular in Bru’s and certainly wasn’t going to miss the big night for anything.
Spreading themselves well were Emma O’Connor from Manydown close and Scott Gray from Jonesboro who were managing to hold down two settees and were awaiting the arrival of the rest of their mates for the big night.
I then headed for a table where I caught up with Moira Boyle, Orla Donaldson Colleen McCabe and Michael and Sinead Bellew all from Crossmaglen who told me they were definitely there for the night and couldn’t wait for the crack to get going.
Next I caught up with Lisa Kelly from Donaghmoyne and Darren Courtney from Inniskeen who wanted to wish all their mates a very happy New Year.
After this I got talking to Emma McCartney from Haggardstown and Mark McDonnell from avenue Road who were just getting in form when I met them and they told me it was definitely going to be an epic night.
Making my way through the crowds I then got a word with John Duffy from Ashbrook and Avril Finnegan from Mountpleasant who were up for making it best night of the year ever.
I then headed upstairs where I caught up with Nicola Harper from Park 1 who was with Roman Prokopjen from Bay Estate and Dimo Swarts from Maple Close who were looking forward to a major night of fun together.
Seated close by were Sorcha Lundy from Blackrock and Cathal McCarthy from the Mullaharlin Mafia who were taking a break from the festivities and were looking forward to a major fun filled evening.
Beside them I then met up with Jason Lee and Alannah Conroy from Muirhevnamor who wanted a big shout out for David Byrne from Ashling Park and they were going to have a wild and crazy night “within reason”.
Finally, before I departed I headed for a table where I had the pleasure of talking to Niamh Farrelly from Ashling Park, Sarah Gaskin from Bay Estate, Sarah Sherry from Quay Street, Anna Farrelly from Ashling Park, Uliya Kozlov and Sarah Kerr from Mount Avenue, David Taaffe from College Heights and Stephen Neacy from Seatown who got all their seats together and were ready for a major session.
