RECENT DEATHS

Condolence­s to Kathleen Byrne, Frances and Brian Kieran and family on the death of Briege Drumgoole, Knockdin-non, Dunleer, (nee Byrne, Haggardsto­wn) who was laid to rest in Dromin Cemetery on Friday last.

FOROIGE

The local Foroige Club activity continues in the Community Centre each Friday. This week its games night and next week it’s a Spring Ball in Ardboyne Hotel, Navan.

SUNDAY DANCING

Dancing in the Community Centre this Sunday night February 19, with music by Eddie Gallagher. Big Pat plays on February 26, White Lightning on March 5, Showbud on March 12, Brendan Lee Band on March 19, and Liam Mannering on March 26. Dancing from 9.00pm to 12 midnight.

EMMETS LOTTO

Emmets Club lotto resumes on Tuesday next, February 21, for Jackpot of €4,300 carried over from 2016. Lotto can also be paid by Standing Order. The club very much appreciate­s the continued support for this vital annual fundraiser that goes towards the weekly running costs of the club and extends thanks all who contribute­d over the years and all the promoters.

GOLF OUTING

Callans of Philipstow­n have a Golf Outing on Saturday February 25 to Ashfield Golf Club. Tee Time is 11.00am and fee is €20 including golf, curry and a pint.

PILGRIMAGE

BOWLS

Kilkerley Bowls Club continue each Wednesday from 7.45pm to 10.00pm in Kilkerley Community Centre. New members are most welcome to join the club.

EMMETS GFC

The Executive Committee meet this Monday night in the Community Centre at 8.00pm. Membership for 2017 is now due and club registrati­on membership night is on February 24 in the Clubrooms. All members and new members are encouraged to attend on the night and clear their membership fees for the year. Church Gate Collection will be taken up on the weekend of February 25/26. In the Sheelan Cup on Sunday last it finished Kilkerley Emmets 1-9 Na Piarsaigh 1-7 Emmets ahead 1-3 to 1-2 at half way having played against the gale.

Darren Meehan 1-3, Shane Lennon 0-3, Conal McEneaney, Ciaran Bellew and James Shields 0-1 each. This Sunday’s Sheelan Cup fixture is at home to St Mochtas at 11.00am.

PARISH NEWS

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each Friday from 6.30p.m.-7.30p.m.

Please pray for Briege Drumgoole, Dunleer, Fr James Shevlin, Mona Frances Clarke, Castleblay­ney who died recently.

The Sacrament of Confirmati­on will take place in Kilkerley this Friday, February 17, at 11.00a.m. Archbishop Eamon Martin is scheduled to celebrate the ceremony.

Baptisms take place every second Sunday of the month after 10.00am mass and a baptism course will be held each month with course dates posted in the Church Porch.

Confession will take place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, after 6.00p.m

Mass and before Mass on First Friday. Kilkerley Emmets Church Gate Collection will be taken up on the weekend of February 25/26.

PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES

This year’s Armagh Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from May 12 – May 17 inclusive. Costs of pilgrimage are €750. This figure includes transport costs to and from Airport, Flights, Insurance, Hotel accommodat­ion and food. Single Room Supplement is €160. Completed Booking Forms with a non-refundable Deposit of €200 must be in by Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Balance of money must be in by Wednesday, April 5. Pilgrims intending to travel must have a valid Passport and E111 which must be produced on booking.
