The Sheelan Cup match this week is away to O’Raghallaig­hs at 11.00am on Sunday morning.. On Saturday last the team beat Sean O’Mahoneys 2-8 to 1-4.

SET DANCING CLASSES

Set dancing classes continue on Monday nights in the Community Centre from 8.30pm to 10.00p.m. We extend an invite to anyone interested in learning set dancing to come along. Admission €6.

The Sacrament of Confirmati­on will take place in Knockbridg­e on Friday, April 7, at 11.00am. Archbishop Eamon Martin is scheduled to celebrate the ceremony. Confession­s will be available on Monday from 9.30pm -10.00pm, at the end of Eucharisti­c Adoration, and at any time ‘by request’

HURLING CLUB

Knockbridg­e Hurling Club held a very successful Table Quiz in Cluskey’s, Little Ash on Friday last. This was the 32nd year of the Quiz, which must be a record for Louth. Many thanks to Quizmaster Frank Carney and to his wife Theresa for organising the sheet correction­s. Thanks also to Kathleen and Dolores McNally who assisted Theresa on the night. The Club would also like to thank Vincent Byrne, his family and staff for their hosting of the quiz and their support on the night.The winners with a score of 76 were the team’ Ging Gang Google’ consisting of Gerry Byrne, Jack Cumiskey, Finbar Gethins and Fintan Sheridan. Runners up were the team ‘ Making KBHC Great Again’ consisting of Shane D’Arcy, Ronan Lynch, Paddy Reenan and Michael Lundon, with a score of 74 points. The Club appreciate­s the support of the 26 teams that took part and also the various sponsors of the raffle, organised by Ann Dunne. Great work was done with the sound system by Shane Darcy James Mulvanney and Derek Kettle. Thanks is also due to Noel and Brendan McNally, Gerry Dunne and Niall Byrne for their help on the night running the Quiz.

PRESENTATI­ON NIGHT

St Brides GFC host a Presentati­on Dance in the Lisdoo Arms on Saturday, February 25, for the 2016 Division 4 League Winning Team. Music by Retro Sweet Club. Special Guests on the night are the 1967 Ranafast Cup and Junior Championsh­ip winning teams and the 1968 Cardinal O’ Donnell Cup winning team. Dinner at 8.00pm Sharp with admission €25. Baptisms will take place every fourth Sunday of the month after 11.30am mass and a baptism course will be held each month with course dates posted in the Church Porch.

SCHOOL DRAMA CLUB

This club has certainly brought life to the village and everything they organised as turned out a great success and this upcoming parade promises to be no different. The day starts with a St. Patrick’s day breakfast being served in the community commencing at 10.00am.

All proceeds from the breakfast will go to the Monday Morning club which provides an activity meeting for the older generation every Monday morning and does Trojan work. The parade itself commences at 12.30pm. The organisers would like to invite all groups clubs, organisati­ons and businesses to take part. If you got something you want to advertise or show off this would be a great opportunit­y. We wish the club well and hope the weather stays good.

GAME POSTPONED

Last Sunday St. Mochtas were due to play their opening game of the season in the Shield but it was postponed and will now take place in DKIT @ 8.00pm Friday 24th February against St. Mary’s. The club’s membership fees for 2017 are now due and are being collected by either Eamon O’Neill or Paul Murtagh. They also ask us to remind you to keep Saturdau 25th February free for the Juvenile quiz which takes place that evening in Sark’s bar.
