ON Saturday night, I headed for the Dowdallshill GFC clubrooms where a special 30th birthday party was being held for Kerryann Coburn from Doolargy Avenue and there to make sure she had a great night were parents Marion and Jim, sister Emma, favourite cousin Aaron Grimes from Grange Drive and a huge collection of family and friends.

Kerryann, number one barperson the Crowe’s Nest was looking stunning and wanted to thank everyone for coming along to the party.

I then decided to have a look round to see who else was enjoying the party and met up with her dad who was having a great laugh with the singing legend that is Connie Cullen who had come over from Westport specially for the party and wanted to wish Kerryann all the best on her big night.

After this I headed over for a word with her mum Marion who was sitting with her crew and they included Anne Keaskin from Laurel Grove and Bridie Laverty from Greenacres who were up for making it a real night to remember.

Next I got talking to family friend Tony Callan from Saltown who was chatting to Kerryann’s godmother Lucia Haughey from Williamsons Place who was going to make sure she had a special night.

At an adjacent table I then met up with Maria Stokes from Naughtons Close, Adele Murtagh from Dromiskin and Mrs. Elaine Duffy from Louth Village who are big friends with the birthday girl and were there to party the night away.

I then headed over for a chat with uncle Kevin Haughey from Newry who was with his children Matthew, Stephen and Joanne who were all up for making it a mad night and were later joined by Kevin’s brother Martin Haughey from Louth Village.

Making my way over to another table where I got talking to Louise Myles from Claddagh Park and Linda Connolly from Ashford Crescent who were having a laugh with Kerryann’s sister Emma from Aghameen Park who told me that it was going to be anything but quiet when the all the Coburns got together.

Not too long later I then got talking to cousins Alison Grimes from Muirhevnamor, Nuala Johnston from Greenacres, David and Lisa Durnin from Dromiskin who all wanted to wish Kerryann all the best on her big night.

I then headed over for a quick word with neighbours Mark Gallagher and Sharon Durnin who jokingly said they thought that the birthday girl was definitely a bad influence on their kids, but wanted to wish her all the best on her big night.

After this I headed over for a chat with Mark and Joanne Smith from The Quay who were with John ‘ The Beast’ Griffin who was with his sister Natalie Griffin both from Muirhevnamor who wanted to wish their neighbour all the best on her big night.

Finally, before I departed I got talking to Anita Neary from Mountain Court who told me that Padraig Smith also from Mountain Court couldn’t make and the crack just wouldn’t be the same without him.
