The first game of the season for the St Pats and Cuchulainn Gaels ladies was a challenge match against neighbours Cooley Kickhams. On a miserable Sunday morning in Omeath, any challenge set by first division Cooley was met by the Pats/Gaels ladies, with a great defensive effort and leadership from team captain Caoimhe Breen, and some outstanding performances in the midfield from Aine Breen, and Meg Woods who found the net twice. Also getting goals were Karen Kieran and Tara Rogers. The final score was Cooley Kickhams 3-7 St Pats/Cuchulainn 4-4.
