Ó Fiaich Institute – A Trusted Further Education Partner

Ó Fiaich Institute of Further Education (OFI) is situated in the heart of Dundalk, and is a long established provider of Post Leaving Certificate certified courses to people throughout Louth, Meath and surrounding counties. OFI prides itself on the extensive range of courses on offer, which reflect the changing needs of students and of market demands.

New Courses for 2017/18

This year there are upcoming job opportunities in the areas of Hairdressing/Barbering, Youth Work, Golf and Sports Management, Animal Health and Film and TV production, so the initiative has been taken to add QQI certified courses to ensure that people have the opportunity to upskill or reskill so that they can gain employment in those areas, or indeed comfortably progress onto higher education.

Supporting Students at Every Stage

Traditionally, many of our students have come to us directly from secondary school, but we now have a growing cohort of mature students too. The blend of young, older, qualified and unqualified leads to a strong supportive learning environment where teachers and student support each other, diversity and knowledge is valued, and success is guaranteed.

The vision for education in OFI has been driven forward by Pádraig McGovern who has been the Principal there since 1998. He has overseen the inception of OFI; he has led the hugely dedicated and committed teachers as they established the reputation of being providers of the best courses, with the best outcomes at PLC level nationwide.

Spreading our Wings to Robin House

Last year saw the addition of our Holistic, Health and Beauty centre based in Robin House in The Ramparts, Dundalk. Robin House has been customised with state of the art treatment rooms and has added a new dimension to the course and it is anticipated that there will be further developments over coming years.
