Spring Concerts in Heritage Centre

-

LESS than two weeks to go before the start of the 2017 Sundays in Spring afternoon concert season at the Carlingford Heritage Centre.

With our artistic co-directors, Zoe Conway and John McIntyre, and supported by Create Louth (The Arts Service Louth County Council), we are pleased to launch the second series of Sundays in Spring Concerts on 2nd April next with a very special performance by Karl Sweeney and Michael McHale.

Our programme for 2017 builds on the inaugural Spring Series in 2016 and will see a range of world-class Irish musicians, singers and poets perform in the special surroundings of the Carlingford Heritage Centre, much loved by artists and audiences alike. Sunday afternoon concerts will take place from 4.00 – 5.00 throughout April (except Easter) through to May 7th.

On Sunday April 2, pianist Michael McHale and violinist Karl Sweeney open the series.

Michael and Karl are no strangers to this part of the country and have performed to rapt audiences in Dundalk on several occasions over recent years. Michael initially from Belfast is one of the most active and exciting young pianists in Ireland today. He is in great demand as a solo and chamber player as well as an accompanist and he has an impressive set of recorded music. Dundalk born Karl performs regularly internationally and at home in Ireland as soloist, chamber musician and orchestra and is a member of the violin faculty at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

We are delighted to welcome both artists for an afternoon out of their ever busy recording and performance schedules to start us into the second Spring Series.
