Terrific staff honoured

-

TV personality Gavin Duffy led the applause as founding Moorehall Lodge staff member Evelyn Clerkin was among colleagues who were honoured at the Moorehall Living Staff Appreciation night at Bellingham Castle recently.

Evelyn, who has been with Moorehall Lodge since it opened, was the first winner of the annual Special Recognition Award, sponsored by AIB, which honours staff members who have gone above the call the duty in the past year.

The night was a chance for Moorehall Living to show its appreciation for the part that the staff plays in the award-wining culture at Moorehall Lodge Drogheda, Ardee, Moorehall Retirement Village and Moorehall Disability Services.

A host of staff members were recognised for 15 and 10 years’ service with Moorehall Living at the glittering night as well as many categories voted on by colleagues, residents and families.

The appreciation awards as voted by residents and families went to Annie Rateesh (Drogheda), Ruth Devlin (Ardee) and Aisling Kerr (Disability Service).

There was huge applause as Aliesha Dwyer (Drogheda), Martina Finnegan (Disability Service) and Antoinette Quigley (Ardee) took the plaudits from their fellow team members as the Most Supportive Colleague in each service.

The staff members at Cois Abhainn household at Moorehall Lodge Ardee won the inaugural John McCoy Team Of The Year trophy.

Melanie Williams from Moorehall Lodge Ardee was the first winner of Ola’s Prize – an educational bursary named in honour of Ola Noga, an inspirational colleague at Moorehall Lodge Drogheda who passed away last year.

‘A staff appreciation night like this is very important to us at Moorehall Living, because our staff are at the very heart of our award-winning care,’ said Founder and Chairman Michael McCoy.

‘We are all very passionate about our work and are very proud of the unique and warm care environment we have created where people really flourish.

‘We are proud that both our residents and staff think of Moorehall Living as home, and our whole team are embodiments of that ethos.

‘With 281 staff members, Moorehall Living is a large contributor to the economic life of Drogheda, Ardee and Mid-Louth, but what makes our care special is the love that our staff have for each other and the people that they care for.’
