One party I certainly wasn’t going to miss was my old mate Eddie Burton from Claddagh Park’s 40th which took place in the Lilywhite Lounge on Saturday night.

Eddie, who works in Print Express is a mad Dundalk FC supporter and also finds time to manage some of the St. Dominics football teams, was there with partner Tracy Caldwell, kids Dion, Kaylem and Aaron, mum Betty Burton from Hughes Park, brother Alan from Avondale, sisters Geraldine Tuite from Clontigora Court, Deborah Burton from Garrybawn and Linda Burton from Glenwood who were all there to make sure he had an epic night, but Eddie is an all-round party animal, so they’d only just be aiding and abetting him!

I then decided to have a look round to see who was up for making a night of it and I first caught up with one of Eddie’s best mates Jackie Moran who was definitely there to lead the birthday boy astray on the night.

I then headed for a table where I got a word with Aidan Lee from Riverside Drive and Eamonn McCaghey from Blackrock who both wanted to wish Eddie all the best on his 40th.

They were sitting beside Rosemary Mackin from Ravensdale and Jacko Burke from Seafield Lawns and Shane and Sheila McGuirk from Castle Heights who were up for making the best of the occasion.

Meanwhile over on the high seats I got taking to Lean Ward, Kourtney Farrell and Kian Tuite all from Muirhevnamor who wanted to wish Eddie all the best on his big night.

Heading for another table I met up with some of Eddie’s mates from St. Dominics and they were Ray McKenna from Inniskeen, John and Carol Derry from Manydown Close who weren’t going to be talking about football for a change, they were there to party!

At an adjacent table I caught with some of the Redeemer lads and they were Damien McGuinness from Ath Lethan with his wife Noreen, Mark Caldwell from Coxes Demesne, Stewart Hennessy from Reaghstown, Joanne and Jonathan Murray from Farndreg who were already in party mode and making the best of the night.

After this I headed over for a word with Tracy’s mum, dad and brother Mary, Kevin Caldwell and Kevin Jnr. from Ashling Park who were having a right old night of it and the lads were chatting to John Boland from Ashling Park.

They were close to the table where the Doyle’s from Cedarwood Park were and they included Kevin and Christina, with kids Ian and Anthony and the lads told me they were only here for the beer!

Not too long later I had the pleasure of meeting up with Helen McGivney from Carrickmacross and Linda Burton from Dublin Road who wanted to wish her brother all the best on his big night.

Heading for another table I then caught up with my old mate Pete Lee from Crescent 2 who was having a laugh with ‘Bruce Almighty’, better known as Bruce Leathem from Garrybawn who was with Eddie’s sister Deborah Burton, niece Carrie and Stephen Kerley from Brookwood Lawns who were all in party mode and ready to make it a massive night.

Also at the table I got a word with Colin Hughes from Bothar Na Feirme and Eddie’s brother Alan Burton from Avondale Park who was with his wife Annmarie and the lads where having a mad night of it. They were there with Michael and Geraldine Tuite from Clontigora Court, Gerard and Helen McGivney who told me not to forget to give a mention to Sharon Cathcart and John Doyle both from Carrickmacross too.

I then headed over for a quick word with Woolly Mackin from Maple Close and Gizmo Malone from Road 2 who wanted to wish Eddie all the best on his big night and were on hand to make sure he had a totally mad night.

After this I headed over for a chat with David Boland from St. Ronans Terrace who told me he was there with his partner Debora Caldwell and son Leigh and he wanted to wish all the best to his bro-in-law Eddie.

Not too long later I met up with Nadjib Heddane and Frances Watters from Ath Lethan who were in great form and definitely out to make the best of Eddie’s big bash.

Definitely up for making it a real night to remember were Frances Donnelly from Ashling Park and Deborah Caldwell and the ladies wanted to thank Stacey and Deborah who were babysitting for them on the night.

I then caught up with the Eddie’s workmates from Print Express and they were Laura Morgan from Dublin Road and Eugene Zabek originally from Poland but now hanging his hat in Bay Estate and they wanted to wish Eddie all the best on his big night.

Finally, before I departed I caught up with Cormac and Niamh Myers from Afton Drive who were with Sheila McGuirk from Castle Heights and Niamh’s cousin Fiona Crawford from Portadown who were all up for a mad one and wanted to wish Eddie all the best on his big night.
