CASA express thanks for donations to shops

- Ciara O’Sullivan, Carol Gallagher and Ashley Emadi at the Bellurgan NS parents association Morning of Fashion with Unique in Carlingford and Sheba in Fitzpatrick’s Bar.

CASA, The Caring and Sharing Association would like to express their deepest thanks to all who supported their appeal for stock for their chain of charity shops. It was a plea for help which was heard by many.

Hanlon Transport once more came to the aid of CASA. Their truck was parked at Cooley Parochial Hall on Saturday morning last, April 8. From early morning people came with their unwanted items of clothing, footwear etc. Kind souls of all ages came to share their belongings with others. So many wanting to be involved, even the housebound must be applauded who asked for their donation to be picked up.

Throughout the morning donations continued to roll in. The chilly breeze which blew down from the gap of Maeve’s, cooled the volunteers as one by one they lifted the bags of donations into the trailer. By 1 pm, the giant 40’ trailer belonging to Hanlon Transport was filled to the brim. The doors were closed on another successful collection for the charity CASA in Cooley.

Thanks to the generous response to the CASA appeal, many with disabilities will now benefit from respite care in the CASA break house in Malahide. CASA volunteers will be given the opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with brave terminally ill people in the silence of the Grotto of Lourdes. Hundreds of precious eager eyes will watch the calendar to see when the next CASA social will take place.

CASA would like to thank everybody who donated to their collection in Cooley. They are completely overwhelmed that so much support and kindness can come from a small rural area. Thank you to those who spread the word and collected items on behalf of CASA. They would like to thank those who came to help load the trailer.

Thanks also to Hanlon Transport and their team of volunteers who got out of their beds at 4 am on Sunday morning and travelled with the cargo to help off-load it. Thank you to The Argus Newspaper for providing so much needed publicity for the appeal. On behalf of the many with disabilities who will now benefit from the services of CASA, a million thanks to everybody involved.
