- Tara Mackin and Lisa Malone, Castlebellingham. Aoife McDaid, Carlingford and Leah Hoey, Kilkerley at the Colaiste Rís TY Wedding Singer Show in The Town Hall. Aisling, Aoife, and Caoimhe McEneaney, Manydown Close, with Ciara Woods, Castletownroche.

On Thursday night, I headed for the Town Hall where the Colaiste Ris Transition Year where putting on the final performance of the Wedding Singer and a huge crowd had turned out specially to support them.

I was only there when I met up with Beth McEneaney from Blackrock and Clodagh Whelan from Dromiskin who wanted to wish the cast all the best and who were there on a bit of a spying mission, yes, the ladies are in the St. Vincents TY and said they’d be putting on their Billy Elliott from May 18th to 21st and will be well worth seeing.

After this Joshua Duffy from Cluan Enda arrived and told me he was there to support a few friends.

Not too long later I got a word with Bernard Campbell from Red Barns Road who told me he couldn’t wait to see his granddaughter Chloe Murden from St. Marys Court who was going to be in action on the stage and he was awaiting the arrival of her parents Tara and Sean who weren’t going to miss her performance.

Next I headed over for a chat with Kerrie Gregory from O’Hanlon Park, Ronan Quigley from Ashbrook and Ciara Woods from Castletown Road who were also there for St. Vincents (not Ronan obviously) and were looking forward to a good night.

After this I headed over for a chat with Naomi O’Hagan from The Quay and Amy Greene from Blackrock who told me they’d be going into TY and wanted to see what the standards were like.

Not too far away I then met up worth Aideen Dunne, Ciaran Boyle and Liam Kiernan all from Togher who told me they were there to see Aideen’s sister Emma who was going to be on stage and couldn’t wait for it!

Just arrived in were Meigan McKenna from Villa Park and Kyle Connolly from Lurgangreen who were there to check out the opposition but were looking forward to a great night too.

Not too long later I caught up with teachers Selena McEvoy from Greengates and Sophie Caine from Blackrock who were with Selena’s mum Breda McEvoy and they were looking forward to the show and wanted to wish all the TY’s involved all the best with their endeavour.

After this I met up with Lauren Sweeney from Blackrock, Sharan- ya McGuill from Armagh Road and Tara Durnin from Racecourse Road who were there to see if this year’s TY efforts were as good as last years’ Little Shop of Horrors.

I then caught up with singers Barry Dunne from Lower Avenue Road and Pierce McNee from Dunleer who told me the crowds were good during the week and they were looking forward to a full house on this the final performance.

Looking forward to seeing her star brother Alex was Anna McGuinness from Springfield Manor who was with parents Vincent and Geraldine who all wanted to wish him all the best on his final performance.

Not too long later I then met up with Una and Cillian Gonnelly from Manydown Close who wanted a special mention for Una’s son Liam who had been performing on stage in the musical, but after a BMX accident on the way home after Tuesday’s show, wiped out after an unsuccessful bunny-hop and broke his elbow, instantly demoting him to the backstage crew.

After this I met up with Eurico Carajote from Meadow Grove, Sean Caldwell from Manydown Close, Jan Petrovsky from Saltown and Yuriy Pits from Seatown who are all 6th years who were there to see how the current crop of TYs measured up to last years.

Finally, before I departed I met up with Diane and Colin Thompson from Manydown Close who were there to support son Reece who wasn’t on stage but was making sure the night was running smoothly and wanted to wish him all the best.
