Summer wedding season is here...

-

SUMMER is the perfect season for a wedding, with warmer weather and plenty of sunshine.

Guests can enjoy a glass of bubbly in the garden and whatever venue you choose will make the perfect backdrop for pictures once the sun is shining.

There are an array of beautiful flowers to choose from when planning a summer wedding and deciding on the perfect bouquets for you and your bridesmaids can be a daunting task.

If you’re unsure of what flowers are in season at the time of your wedding date, meet with your florist to discuss your options.

Florists have a wealth of experience and will be able to give you plenty of ideas that you may not have thought about. They also know which floral combinations work best together; colours, shapes, smells, etc and so you will get the best selection for your wedding.

The world is your oyster when it comes to colour; you may choose to go for a soft, muted palette of pinks and purples or go for a burst of colour representing the beautiful flowers that are sure to bud during the summer months.

Colour is also something you can take into consideration when planning your cake, centrepieces and outfits.

Of course, no matter what season you get married in, the most important thing to consider is your budget.

Decide early on what you can afford to spend on the big day, make a budget allocating amounts for each section of the day and try to stick to it.

The first thing you should do is sit down with your partner and discuss what both of you may have already saved and what you can afford to put aside on a regular basis up until your wedding day. This will help you set a realistic budget and priorities for your wedding day

The venue will help you when it comes to working out cost and may even have a wedding planner on hand to help ensure every detail is right for the big event.

Choosing your dress is a huge part of the process and many bridges to be like to bring along their female relations and friends to help them choose.

They will provide you with impartial opinions on different colours, looks and styles so why not book some appointments and afterwards share a leisurely lunch with the group.

If it is an intimate wedding you have in mind, why not look for a small hotel, with a garden which will have summer flowers in full bloom, a perfect backdrop for your photos.

For a larger affair, you may be able to use a historic mansion or castle hotel that will still have that special warmth.

The number of guests you have will ultimately dictate where you choose to hold your wedding so try to sit down with your partner and come up with a rough idea of the number of people you are planning to invite before you go looking for venues.

The Honeymoon is also an important part of any wedding planning process.

Whether you want to do something adventurous like a trip to the Carribean or Asia or you would prefer to enjoy a leisurely cruise around the Mediterranean, there are lots of travel agents and advisors on hand to help you plan the holiday of a lifetime best suited to you and your partner.

Wheverever you decide to go, it is important you take out travel insurance to cover you against any losses, such as illness or injury, damaged or delayed luggage, cancelled flights, delayed or missed departure and loss or theft of money or passport.

Always check the policy details before you buy, so you don’t duplicate cover you may already have with any other policies such as your health insurance.
