THERE was a great turnout for the Club Strokeplay which took place on Friday evening and results were as follows:

Ladies section winner Audrey Donnelly; Junior grade winner Darren Dooley, 2nd Pat Gorman; Inter grade winner Liam Flood, 2nd Ray Mc Kenna; Senior grade winner Sean Goggin, 2nd Pádraic Sarsfield. Thank you to all those who supported the night.

The MacBride Summer League will commence next Monday and will run for six weeks.

It takes place on Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm and the entry sheet is on the noticeboar­d in the clubhouse.

Congratula­tions to MacBride club members Barry Thornton (senior grade) and Owen Campbell (inter grade) who narrowly missed out on winning their respective grades following a play-off in the LDM Strokeplay competitio­n on Sunday in Channonroc­k in difficult weather conditions.

Well done also to club members who won at some of the recent Open Scotch Foursomes com- petitions - Owen Smith and David O’Brien on winning the Gents 36 gross in Collon, Brendan Walker and Martin Thornton on winning the Gents 18 nett in Ringcommon­s and Pádraic Sarsfield and Audrey Donnelly who won the Mixed

36 nett prize in both Collon and Ringcommon­s.

There was no winner of last Tuesday’s club lotto jackpot. Numbers drawn were 14, 16, 20 & 28 and the lucky dip winners were Suzanne Tuite, Janice & Karl and Kayleigh Cooper. The next draw will take place on Tuesday 20th, when the jackpot prize will be €2,000.

Cement will host their Open Singles competitio­n from this Wednesday (over-55s) to Sunday. MacBride club members are encouraged to show your support for our local club.

MacBride will hold a Summer Camp from July 3rd to 7th for boys and girls aged between eight and 13 years. The camp will run from 10am to 2.30pm daily, Monday to Friday.
