Fantastic night as Jim celebrates his 60th
GREAT PARTY FOR DROMISKIN NATIVE IN THE LISDOO
ONE party I certainly wasn’t going to miss on Friday night was that of Jim Woods from Dromiskin who was celebrating his 60th in the Lisdoo and there to make sure he had a fantastic time was his wife Pauline, kids Jim, Paul, Rosemary and Leanne, grandkids James, Liam, Patrick and Ryan and a huge collection of family and friends.
I was only in the door when I met the lorry driving birthday boy who is best remembers for his days in Ridleys by many and he wanted a big shout out for his son Kevin who couldn’t make it to the party because he is over living in Sydney, but to tell him the whole family is thinking of him!
I then caught up with Jim’s sister Finola Kerley from Coast Road who wanted to wish him all the best and also wanted a special mention for husband Michael who couldn’t make it, something to do with a football commitment!
Not too long later I headed over for a chat with Jim’s aunts May McKeown from Drogheda, Jean Woods from Wynnes Terrace and Briege and John Copas from Avenue Road who were enjoying the company of Ian and Deirdre McKeown from Termonfeckin who all wanted to wish Jim all the best on his big night.
Heading for an adjacent table I then got talking to Garreth Finnegan from Cooley and Jennifer Hollywood from Gyles Quay who were up for making the best of the festivities with Jim’s son Paul and his partner Leanne from Claddagh Park who is the legend that keeps Toales Bar ticking over so well.
Also in their company were Edel and Jim Woods from Ardboe who were with James and Liam and they also wanted to wish Jim all the best on his big night.
Making my way over to another table I then got talking to Pauline’s sister Catriona and Bernard Crawley from Rosslough with her brother Peter Fox from Grangebellew and they assured me it was going to be an epic night of celebrations for sure.
Next I got a quick word with Leanne’s boyfriend Paudey Carroll from Tallanstown who was there with his parents Gerry and Mary and they were definitely up for making it a real night to remember.
Easily one of the liveliest tables in the place that night was where I found Jim’s neighbour Dalton Dullaghan from Dromiskin who was with friends Mary and Jimmy Duffy from Duffy’s Cross who were having a right old night of it and wanted to wish Jim all the best and hoped he had a fantastic night.
Finally, before I departed I got talking to eldest grandson Ryan Woods from Dromiskin who was with 2nd cousin Shane McKeown from Termonfeckin and chicken curry connoisseur Dylan Mackin from Blackrock who was the only official gate crasher there and they all wanted to wish Jim all the best on his 60th.
