Sports-mad Anthony was a very kind and loving person

THE death has taken place of Anthony (Blackie) Madden, Beechmount Drive, Dundalk.

He passed away on 8 July, 2017, following a short illness, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

Anthony attended Redeemer Boys School, followed by ‘ the Tech’ secondary school, and on leaving there, started work in Avenue Dry Cleaners for a number of years.

He also did bar work for a number of years. Anthony loved to socialise with his friends and family, and enjoyed his ‘Monday club’.

He loved playing pool and darts, and took part in many competitio­ns over the years.

Anthony was a massive Celtic supporter, and travelled to Glasgow with the Celtic supporters’ club for matches on occasion.

He also loved his Dance music. Anthony was a very kind and loving person, and very supportive to family and friends when they needed it.

Even through his illness, he retained a great sense of humour. He never complained and was very dignified throughout.

Anthony will be sadly missed by his mother, Nancy; father, Anthony; brothers, Seán, Andrew and Niall; sisters, Karen, Annemarie, Fiona and Lisa; nieces, Stephanie, Rayanne, Shannon, Róisín, Katie, Rebecca, Eryn, Eabha, Emma; nephew, James; brothers-in-law, Raymond, Clive, Colin; sister-in-law, Gráinne.

His remains were removed to the Church of the Holy Redeemer for funeral Mass, and burial took place afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Anthony’s Month’s Mind Mass is Sunday, 13 August, 2017 at 11.30am.
